Well, yum, isn’t someone going to be lucky!
These are some of my very favorite Italian foods; we always have a good stash of each of them in our house here in Sicily. I hand-picked them so you can experience them too! There’s some delicious pasta, a beautiful bottle of olive oil, a jar of real Nutella*, and a special Sicilian addition: crema di pistachio. Sicily is famous for its pistachios, particularly those from the town of Bronte on the slopes of Mt Etna, about an hour from our home. This sweet concoction is a wonderful way to experience them on a slice of bread… or just straight out of the jar!
This giveaway is open to everyone, including my friends here in Sicily. (You all are some of my most faithful readers!) I’ll ship the package of goodies to the winner next week.
The giveaway will last one week and close on Wednesday, February 6th, at midnight EST. A winner will be selected through the random number generator, www.random.org.
You have 2 chances to enter:
- leave a comment! Tell me what your favorite Italian food is, if you’d like.
- sign up to receive my blog updates via email either in the sidebar under “Subscribe // Connect” or in the box below. I’ll know that you signed up, so you don’t have to leave another comment telling me that you did so.
And that’s it! Good luck!!!
*You didn’t know you weren’t eating real Nutella in the States? It’s true… sorry! But enter this giveaway and you could get a jar of the good stuff. :)

Well, I counted up all the entries (comments on this post + subscribers to my email updates). The results are in and the winner is #174, Miss Lucy P.! Lucy, I’ll email you to get your address and send you the package. Congratulations!!! I hope you enjoy it all… especially the Nutella. :-)
A giveaway, how wonderful! I have a hard time saying no to ANY Italian food…but I’ll name bruschetta as a favorite today! :) Thanks for the chance to win!
Becca, I love wood fired pizza– the kind with fresh tomatoes and basil or just a bunch of yummy cheeses or shrimp and asparagus. But bruchetta comes in as a very close second. Hope I win!
:)
I think my favorite is farfalle with spicy italian sausage and cream sauce.
Giveaway! Favorite Italian food… gelatto, dark chocolate. Or capuccine – does that count? Best Italian meal I ever had: plain old pasta with truffle shaved fresh on top, in Orvieto. It was my first time tasting real truffle and it took my breath away.
Yay giveaway! My favorite Italian good is gelatto … a fruity flavor swirled with dark chocolate :)
Real nutella??? I’ve been fooled! My all time favorite Italian food is cannoli, hands down. My sweet husband got me all the makings for our first Christmas. I’ll never forget it – one of my favorite Christmas gifts ever. I’ll also take real bruschetta any day. If I lived in Italy, it would be trouble!
My favorite is any sort of seafood linguine with a tomato sauce.
Fun! That’s a hard question. Maybe eggplant parmigiana. Mmm…
REAL nutella? how can I turn down a chance to win that?!
Wow, Becca! Way to whet our appetites! One of my favorite Italian food memories is actually Nutella gelato. Mmm!
My favorite Italian food is Pasta Norma! Maria taught me how to cook it there in Sicily and oh it is fabulous. I make it now that we’re back home in the States but it isn’t quite the same because I cannot find ricotta salata to save my life!
Desiree…we’re having Maria teach a few of us her Pasta Norma recipe next week and I can’t wait! I’ve heard it’s hard to replicate in the States, but it’s worth a try!!
Does pizza count? Ha ha, just kidding. I am huge sucker for ravioli, stuffed with anything you please. Eating always makes me super happy.
Olive oil is probably the Italian ingredient I use most often (basically in every meal), but Nutella has to be my favorite. :) Plus, February is Chandeleur in France, which means lots of crêpes, which are the very best when topped with real Nutella.
Oh what fun! First of all congrats! Your Grandma Evie would be so proud and would love the name!
favorite-hmmmm too hard to decide-any pasta w a great marinara or pesto…oh and Chianti of course!
What a wonderful giveaway! I love anything Italian. I am subscribing to your new blog!!!!
Thank you, Kit!
Oh Yummm…Nutella is a family favorite here…we experienced it first from my sister and brother in law who lived in Heidelberg, Germany. I didn’t subscribe through email, but I follow your blog through my blogger dashboard. Thanks for the chance to experience these goodies! :)
Yum! I’d love to try *real* Nutella. Who knew?!
Yum. I’d love to try the crema di pistachio. Sound very interesting (and delightful). Congratulations on the newest addition to your sweet family.
I thought something was fishy in Denmark. I fell in love with the Euro version when I went mountain climbing in Keysari in Turkey when Momma was 6 months preggers with you. That’s all we ate from 2 in the morning until noon when we reached the summit. It was the first time I consumed large quantities and fell in love with it. Then I came back to the states and have never liked it. Maybe that’s why! Happy Anniversary. Love you all! Poppy
I remember this story well. I think I would be a much better hiker if people fed me Nutella the whole way up!
Oooooh my favorite italian food has to be ANYTHING with Pesto involved. I adore the stuff….I could eat it straight outta the jar. Mmmm…now I’m hungry.
By the way, I discovered your blog a few weeks ago when I decided to plan a trip to Italy with my husband. I have LOVED looking through all your pictures and learning about all the places I could go visit. The day I stumbled upon your site, I kid you not, I sat down and looked through pretty much every single one of your posts drooling over the food and dreaming about the different places to see. Thanks for sharing your world with us. (you even inspired me to start my own blog!)
Thanks!
Megan
Thanks so much for this sweet comment, Megan! I love your blog and am so glad you’re recording your days. It’s a big help to me… especially since I’m a horrible scrapbooker (ie. I’m NOT a scrapbooker) and recorder of photos and events. Thank you for reading along here!
Surely you know I love nutella! I also LOVE authentic Italian pasta. Living in Vicenza when I was little I got tired of eating pasta all the time, but now I miss it very much!
Wow….where to begin. I absolutely love and miss Sicilian cuisine. My all time favorite is the pasta norma and of course the crema cornetti with a big cappuccino to wash it down! Cute new blog, Becca. Hope you’re having a great day!
All of my favorite foods are Italian! And it may not be very sophisticated to say, but pizza is probably my favorite favorite. Congrats on baby Gil–what a sweetie!
I’ll bite! Pardon the pun. :) Hands down, my favorite Italian food is gelato. “Frutti di bosco, per favore!” We’re so happy for you all and can’t wait to meet little Gil! Lots of love to all four of you!
Bruschetta!! With garden tomatoes. Also, do I get a second entry for following via google reader!?
Sure you do! Thanks for signing up for it. :-)
Does pizza count? It’s my favorite anything food. Italian loves also include pasta e fagioli, bruschetta with anything, homemade bolognese, gelato, oh the list goes on and on!
I have two favorites – Nutella and Gelatto. Thanks for the fun giveaway, Becca!
I LOVE all Italian, but gelato (especially chocolate, coconut, mango), bruschetta, caprese, and gnocchi are some of my favorites!
Puh-LEASE come visit, Sarah, so we can go out and eat all these things together!
I will love whatever you send me if I win!
I love Italian food — just none of the meat stuff. :-) Eggplant parm is probably the sure-fire winner in my book!
I seriously love ALL italian food. With a hearty glass of red wine! It can’t be beat. And Japan is LACKING in Italian food restaurants. So, pick me!
Can I trade Italian food for some sushi someday?? :-)
I struggled to choose — but I think lasagna wins in the end!
The Sicily readers are eligible?! Yes, ma’am, you’d better believe I’m entering! Pistachio pasta (Maria’s, to be specific) is my AB-SO-LUTE favorite Italian dish. Second runner up would be my new-found friend, torta de gelato with cono layers!
:)
It’s got to be pesto, I just can’t get enough of it, especially Coriander (cilantro), it’s fantastic with pasta, chicken & fish!
Hard to pick a favourite, but my mother-in-laws orecchiette with tomato sauce is high up on the list. And she makes it all from homegrown produce so the taste is pure Italian sunshine for me.
Italian food is by far my favorite…to pick one.. is pasta too general? pasta of any kind. Breakfast, lunch, dinner… to pick one… Pasta with Anchovy Sauce. Simple – delicioso… the original cucina povera. Can’t ever beat it. Great giveaway… thanks!!
So many Italian favorites to choose from… margharita pizza takes the cake, though!
Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby. I don’t know how you can resist all the cuteness and take time to write a post :) I’ve recently discovered your blog and was hooked ever since. First, because I find Italy fascinating and hope that I get to visit someday; and secondly, I am humbled by your faith in God. I’ve been a Christian all my life but it was not until these past few years that I have finally grasped what it truly means to be a follower of Christ.
Anyhoo, thanks for the opportunity to win. I very much enjoy gnocchi, Italian sausage (who could resist that?) and anything that has seafood!
God bless you. Love from your new fan (^_^)
You have such a cool Etsy site, Nestle! Thank you so much for your encouraging words and for this kind comment.
Gelato, hands down! I ate so much in Italy I gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks! Yikes, but I had a wonderful time! Congratulations on your new son, Gil :)
holy comments! Look at all those faithful readers!!!
When we were in Italy I just pretty much ate pizza non stop.
Yum.

Hmmm…. favourite Italian food…. that is a tough one! I think that would have to be beef carpaccio. So tasty! Thanks for the lovely giveaway!
Cannolli!!!!!
Wait… we have been deceived by fake Nutella? That is an outrage! I demand a spoon and an all access pass to the Nutella factory so I can get the bottom of this. ;) Thank you so much for offering such a yummy and generous giveaway. As for my favorite Italian food… Tiramisu!
Eggplant Parmesan! LOVE it. But I could probably eat just about any italian dish. They are usually such hearty meals with lots of cheese :) Who doesn’t like cheese?!
I should have guessed that Nutella was another one of those foods that just isn’t the same in the States. Hmph.
Favorite Italian food of a person who, thus far, has never been to Italy… ravioli! Because you can make it with seemingly endless fillings. My roomie has a great recipe for butternut squash ravioli, although perhaps Italian food purists would frown upon that. Also my dad taught me there’s no such thing as too much garlic, so I like pasta dishes and bruschetta that agrees with that rule : )
Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy! What a strong, handsome name for a handsome little one. Enjoy your days with your little ones!!
My favorite Italian dish – I don’t have just one – I love them all!! I can eat pasta any way it can be served…okay…I will list one…I love Angel Hair Pasta with some sauteed spinach, fresh basil, cherry tomatoes, fresh garlic and olive oil…I fix this a couple of times a week.
Best to your family from way over here in Lubbock, Texas!! :)
I think my favorite Italian food is… maybe Nutella? I know my favorite Italian dish is Carbonara! Will and I make it all the time… delish! :)
I think I’m most excited about the pistachio stuff! Looks interesting! and you can’t beat GOOD olive oil. :) awesome giveaway!
I love the combined flavors of a caprese salad….fresh mozerella, basil, and sweet tomato topped with really yummy balsamic! so simple and so amazing!
Brick oven pizza! So yummy :)
I am obsessed with all Italian food, but the thing I ate most while in Italy was gelato–always a combo of hazelnut, dark chocolate, and pistachio. So delicious and so cheap for a college backpacker who couldn’t really afford to eat in restaurants.
I love Italian food but my favorite is homemade gnocchi!! Thanks for the chance to win.
If I could have any food in the world, it’d be Italian. Great giveaway : ) Who knew about the nutella difference!
I love crepes with Nutella! Probably even better with the REAL Nutella! Yum! And who doesn’t love bruschetta?!
I love homemade pasta and real, Italian olive oil!
Thanks for the giveaway! I love everything with pesto! We make homemade pesto in summer, freeze it and then use it all winter for pastas, pizzas, fish, etc! :-)
I miss my neighbor Lidia’s homemade Pasta Carbonara. She knew this was my favorite and she made it for me the last day we lived in Sicily. I cried when she was serving it to me because I knew it was the last time I’d ever eat her Carbonara. I miss Lidia and her family so much, I think of them everyday.
oooh, how do I pick a favorite? tiramisu is probably my favorite dessert, but pesto is easily my favorite italian thing EVER.
Mmm. So many Italian dishes are wonderful. Although this isn’t very original, I think I would have to say one of my favorites is meat Lasagna with breadsticks!
Espresso!
I completely agree with you Becca–the Nutella I had while in Italy was so much better than the kind they have here in the States! And as for my favorite Italian food, I think that I could have eaten an entire truckload of tiramisu gelato without getting tired of it… :)
Hmm… Favorite Italian food. Does Gelato count? :) Also, I’ll hopefully be in Italy this summer and I’ll find out what more Italian foods I like!
Fun giveaway! I love love love my mom’s spaghetti and meatballs. :)
Real Nutella?! I feel like I’ve been lied to all this time! :) I love all Italian food!! Pasta, creamy sauce, cheese. Yes please!
Eggplant parmesan is by far the best! Do I get some of that too? by the way I work with lovely Jess Garber and she has shared your adorable pictures along with our other willing staff. Congratulations on the new one.
Oh no! You mean to tell me that All these years I have been serving fake Nutella to my innocent little French students??? I would love to have the REAL thing to serve with crepes in class!! :)
My favorite Italian food is chocolate gelato. In fact, I made it a rule during our honeymoon in Venice that we had to have gelato everyday!
What fun!!!! Favorite Italian food = anything my Italian hubby makes :) Pizza, pasta, gnocchi….
But I want to taste these real Italian treats! Especially the ex virgin olive oil. I LOVE olive oil. If loving olive oil is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
Love your blog, Becca!
Yum, yum! My favorite Italian food would have to be gnocchi, hands down. (Even just mentioning it makes me crave it!) Thanks for hosting this wonderful giveaway, Becca :)
tiramisu! :)
Becca,
Our mutual friend Abi told me about your blog and I love reading your posts! You are an amazing writer with so much insight…I have to admit I’m slightly addicted! Congratulations on your adorable addition to your beautiful family!
Italian food…too many delicious vegetarian options for me to choose a favorite but if I had to tonight I would say vegetable lasagna made with cottage cheese!
Love, love Italian food! Rachael Rays’ Goodfellas Pasta, is my favorite!
I love all Italian food but my favorite would have to be gnocchi. I could eat it every day!
No way about the Nutella! I will have to find me some of the good stuff soon.
I love a simple Italian pizza- good dough, fresh mozz!
A few foods I miss from Tuscany are Ribolitta and fagioli cannellini all’uccelletto. Yum!
Becca, thanks for hosting this giveaway and keeping us all updated on your life in Sicily. I will follow you on Instagram for sure!
Too intrigued by “real Nutella” not to enter!
Becca! Congrats on Baby Gil! Favorite Italian food: Parmigiano-Reggiano . It’s delicious on its own or added to…everything. Truly the bacon of cheese. Lots of love!
I followed a link that led to a link that led to a link that led me here, and I’m so glad! I lived in Orvieto (in a convent. with Italian nuns. who fed me three home-cooked meals per day) for six months and miss Italy on a regular basis. I miss gelato.
I absolutely LOVE caprese, I could eat it everyday and never get bored with it! :)
I had no idea I am not eating real Nutella. It’s still good, so the real stuff must really be great! My favorite Italian food is cannoli! Thanks for the giveaway!
Favorite Italian food? I’m sitting here trying to decide, and I cannot. Fresh pasta, burrata, pizza, gelato, those little bowls of olive/caper thingys that I once ate on the plaza in Vernazza while waiting for my dinner…. It’s all pretty darn yummy. This giveaway sounds amazing. I would love to try “real” Nutella!
I will say biscotti–chocolate, of course!
Wow, with all these comments I’m surprised no one else has mentioned my favorite – blood oranges! I had them on a college trip to Italy and Greece, and while I love pretty much all Italian food, blood oranges are the first food I think of when I think of Italy. It makes me sad that all I can find here in the Detroit area is blood orange sorbet at Whole Foods.
I found your blog recently via Imperfect Homemaking/Pinterest, and I love it! Your travel stories give me the courage to believe that I can experience Europe outside of an organized tour, and it’s so wonderful to find a good Christian blogger. Thanks for being willing to share your life!
~Jessica Ann
Thanks so much for this kind comment, Jessica Ann! I’m so glad you’re here. Let us know if you ever come to Sicily on an unorganized tour… we’d be glad to give you some advice or even show you around. :-)
Mmm…looks delicious! Favorite Italian foods–cannolis, biscotti, chicken parmesan!
The most authentic Italian food I’ve had was pesto brought back from Italy — and I LOVED it! But I also love carbs :) so anything pasta/pizza/bruschetta is wonderful too.
Congrats on your new website — it looks lovely. Oh, and that baby’s not too bad, either. ;)
Oh that’s so hard…I love it all! But I just crave Nutella, so I’ll go with that. :)
