The 52 Project: A portrait of my children once a week & every week in 2014.
Lena: Well, if these photos are not evidence enough, we went to the beach! Elliott’s parents visited for a few days, and we met up with them in Palermo on the western coast of Sicily. From Palermo, we drove a couple of hours down the coast to the beach town of San Vito Lo Capo, where Elliott had found this picturesque apartment rental for us. It was about 15 minutes from the beautiful nature reserve of Zingaro, where both of these photos were taken. Can you believe those colors?!
Gil: This little man might be turning a new leaf with his beach-phobia. He loved the smooth pebbles and amused himself for hours by throwing them against other rocks, piling them up on our laps, or trying to feed them to his Grampa. He also started saying “Lena” this week (“Neee-nah!”), is almost running, and continues to delight everyone he meets with his irresistible blond curls.
I’ve got more pretty photos to share of our hike, apartment, and time with grandparents. I’ll see if I can get my act together to share them tomorrow!
What were you up to this past weekend? Any vacation plans around spring break?
Love how he says Lena like my Nina’s name! Her older sister still calls her “Nonny.” :)
Aww! I know he’d love to meet Nina and try to say her name, too!
We’re currently enjoying some family time, too! The kids and I braved the long drive and came to PA for 5 days. Wish we could have all transported ourselves to San Vito!!!
That explains those Instagram pics! So glad you’re having fun with family. And you are the bravest person I know when it comes to putting your kids in the car and jetting off somewhere by yourself, you know…!
Wow! What a beautiful beach! Lucie is also fascinated with rocks :) While spending time in our garden the other day, she was afraid to touch the flowers (actually shuddered when I brought one near her!), but she came up with quite a little collection of pebbles (which of course made their way into her mouth!) My spring break is next week, but we’re planning to keep it low-key. I’m looking forward to getting some rest and spending some quality time with my girl! I keep having daydreams of hopping a plane to come see you, though ;)
Oh, how we’d love it if you two came to visit! I’d give you the grand tour and plenty of royal treatment. We hope to be in VA for a few weeks this summer, though (fingers crossed!), so we’ll hopefully get some hang out time then.
I hope your spring break is peaceful and restful for you, your girl, your hubby, and your knee. Love you!
